Overview

NOTE: This position is Hybrid NYC

The Planning Analyst will be responsible for sourcing, organizing, and analyzing data that adds rigor to the planning process and helps the planning team make the most data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Media Research: Keep team informed on consumer data set updates, media measurement advancements and recommend new data sources as needed. Uncover the numbers behind emerging media channels and tactics. Keep on top of changes in adtech and privacy for execution of data.
Planning Research: Evaluate audiences and inventory based on specific brand and performance KPIs. Assess size, overlaps & usage levels across audience builds. Advising on guard rails for each channel based on universe sizes, available impressions in the market and how it aligns with target media reached.
Performance Analysis: Interpret results of media performance based on media, consumer and industry factors. Creation of documents to showcase performance and provide in-depth analysis of results to a less technical audience.
Test Design: Develop testing constructs to understand value of different targeting executions. Ensure accurate campaign tracking and reporting will enable all measurement goals.
Some travel and after-hours work required.

Qualifications

We are looking for a strategic, resourceful, self-motivated professional with strong analytical skills.

 

Demonstrable strategic thinking and analysis skills, as well as the ability and confidence to make conclusions and recommendations from a business perspective.
The ability to translate results into clear, concise presentations, written reports, and data visualizations
1-2 years experience in planning, media results analysis or media research
Able to analyze and organize both 1st and 3rd party data strategically.
Experience with media reporting metrics and systems (DSP reporting, 1st party website analytic data, ad server data)
Can confidently draw conclusions and recommendations from available research and data
Resourceful and creative — must bring fresh insights and find ways to fill knowledge gaps when all the data is not readily available

 

Technical Qualifications:
Strong familiarity with multiple datasets:
Consumer & Media datasets: Nielsen, MRI, Resonate, Scarborough
1st party or consumer level data: Sales data, location data, Digital Response metrics
Public datasets: including but not limited to Census data, Bureau of Labor & Statistics, Economic Research Service, Google Trends
Working knowledge of crosstab software
Strong understanding of basic statistical principles and data analysis
Advanced knowledge of Excel (complex formula and data automation skills required, VBA coding preferred)
Experience with Data Visualization (even in PPT) BI tools and reporting (Microsoft BI, Domo, Tableau)
SPSS or similar statistical package software

 

Nice to have qualifications:
Advanced working knowledge of Nielsen data and software products, including NPOWER, NNTV, NMI and AdIntel a plus
Experience with consumer segmentation or market readiness analysis a plus
