Overview

Note: This position is Hybrid to the New York City Metropolitan Area 

 

The Director of Programmatic will manage and lead our programmatic strategy and execution practice.  They will act as the subject matter expert lead on programmatic advertising cross-departmentally, senior leadership, and external partners and clients – with a heavy focus on our programmatic managed service offering. 

 

The successful candidate brings well-founded experience to oversee and grow the programmatic activation team. Candidate will be experienced in both programmatic planning and hands on execution, working strategically with other media subject matter experts to drive omni channel plans for account success. This role leads accounts for iNvolved Media, and in cooperation with Active International accounts/clients. They will have a self-starter mentality, with the ability to identify supporting factors to drive programmatic to scalable success, driving adoption of programmatic models across iNvolved & Active through advocacy,  trainings, and client management.    

Responsibilities

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Strategic responsibility for leading and growing programmatic function aligned to overall company goals.
  • Perfect programmatic strategy and coach programmatic team members, as a key pillar of our platform supported digital media initiatives.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and recommend market data/insights and technology providers to support programmatic advertising opportunities.
  • Liaise and (re-)contract with technology providers, publishers and agency partners.
  • Identify and spearhead strategic growth areas for specific accounts to increase account performance while increasing gross profit for programmatic services

COMMERCIAL

  • Identify, perfect and support internal transformation measures to grow our programmatic advertising structure and processes.
  • Educate and upskill team members, including other media departments, client management, and sales managers.
  • Participate in senior management meetings as it relates to the creation of overall company initiatives, new ideas & solutions that support the leadership & day-to-day programmatic initiatives and operations.

 TEAM

  • Coach direct reports and promote self-development to support growth and progression; nurturing and identifying individual strengths.
  • Manage your teams in line with company policies & procedures, partnering with VP and HR as required.
  • Conduct development plans in a timely manner ensuring goals are fit for purpose, clearly documented and review regularly.
  • Develop and streamline individual staffing growth plans in order to retain and scale team to meet evolving business needs
  • Continually monitor team KPIs and feedback status to VP, Digital Media including accompanying insight, thoughts, and actions.

 GENERAL

  • Partner with peers to develop own understanding of barter and mediums.
  • Work alongside peers and other departments to plan strategies and coordinate efforts to increase ability to achieve our goals.
  • Take a role in department & company meetings, educating from a programmatic perspective, and encourage adoption of company culture & values.
  • Identify and implement improvements to company practices as it pertains to your team and responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly manages apprx. 3 Programmatic Specialists.

 

The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $140,000. The successful candidate’s salary will depend on actual ranges of current employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, geography, as well as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications. Qualifications

  • 7+ years of media agency experience in programmatic advertising required.
  • 3+ years of people management experience required.
  • Educated to university level, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in client management, developing and presenting media recommendations required.

 Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in media planning and strategy, management required.
  • In-depth understanding of the technical landscape of digital advertising required.
  • Hands on experience with building and optimizing campaigns in DSP’s (TTD and DV360 experience preferred).
  • Strong focus on data and targeting, providing solutions that are unique to drive business KPI’s.
  • Experience in the strategic development of adtech/digital marketing units, ideally.
  • Experience in the field of agile project management with excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in providing subject matter expert POV to programmatic advancements or changes in the digital ecosphere.
  • Ability to lead projects independently from start to finish, working with internal and external teams to make decisions and maintain forward momentum.
  • Superb cross collaboration skills, interagency and outside as well as managing up Inspire, motivate, mentor and coach peers and junior teams.
  • Demonstrate strong company understanding of iNvovled/Active as a whole and not just departmental.

Travel:

  • Limited travel for client or industry/conference events.
