Overview

Note: This entry-level position has a hybrid work schedule in Pearl River, NY (onsite 3 days, remote 2)

 

The Sales Associate supports the New Business Development (“NBD”) / Sales teams to provide research based upon templates provided to facilitate the customer prospect and contact effort.

 

In this regard, this position conducts research to be used in the business verticals for Active’s prospects and clients including organizing research information and entering sales data into the Sales system, Salesforce.

 

In addition, this position will assist where possible with the preparation and coordination of sales materials with relevance to new business prospecting including presentations, direct mail campaigns, email content / templates, trade show materials, sales sheets and other similar sales marketing materials.

 

Responsibilities

Category Research and Analysis
Research, analyze and distribute business category-focused summaries including economic, marketing and international data points on companies, as well as overall market trends and implications
Perform thorough business research on sales categories including Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Food/Beverage, e-commerce, Finance, Real Estate, Beauty, Consumer Electronics and Home Furnishings, etc.
Ensure sales collateral is properly formatted for distribution among sales teams

 

Sales Marketing Support
Assist VP of Sales and Marketing in the creation and coordination of sales collateral
Prepares correspondence, reports and other complex documents
Establishes and maintains a comprehensive filing system to ensure retention of reliable/current data and easy information retrieval; Updates the database as appropriate

Attend Business Development Staff Meetings
Attend and participate in weekly New Business Development meetings addressing day-to-day strategies, tactics and challenges of pitching new business
Attend and collaborate in pitch strategy meetings addressing business approach tactics for large, new clients or for a specific sales category

 

Data System Entry/Access
Timely enter information on campaigns sent to prospects and input any results into Salesforce while ensuring accuracy
Ensure proper AC Nielsen mapping of accounts in Salesforce

Perform ad hoc duties and on projects as needed

 

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

The salary range for this position is $45K to $50K + bonus eligible. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or equivalent experience required.
Up to one year of related experience, preferably in a sales-related capacity.
Proficiency in social media technologies preferred (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Hoovers, Google Alerts, etc.) as well as demonstrate the ability to navigate and effectively utilize internet sites to extract business information and perform research.
Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency with Outlook is required.
Media knowledge and experience a plus.
Proficiency with Salesforce.com or other similar CRM application, a plus.

 

Travel
This position does not require regularly scheduled travel.
