Position Summary

The Media Buyer will have strong skills negotiating, buying, analyzing, tracking and reporting for multiple video campaigns and creative length’s that support client business objectives in a fast-paced environment with a focus on both long form and short form DRTV within the following platforms: local TV, national cable, satellite, MVPD/ Systems, syndication, They must also be comfortable interacting with, and in many cases, leading client and new business communications re: Media rationale, planning and strategy. We are looking for a go-getter with the desire to advance in their media career through the opportunity to learn new skills, acquire more responsibility and get greater client contact in a smaller, entrepreneurial agency.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and negotiate Long Form, Short Form and Mid Form Local TV, Network, National Cable and Syndication schedules with strong rationale to meet client requirements in linear television.
  • Prepare, send, and confirm media schedule orders and revisions to media vendors.
  • Manage schedule clearance and preemption accurately and within budget
  • Lead and mentor junior buying team members (Associate Buyers & Assistant Buyers)
  • Interact regularly with clients and, as needed and appropriate, running point as client lead
  • Clear understanding on maximizing client budgets through optimizing media schedules based on clients KPIs (i.e. budgetary, ratings, impressions, CPO/ratio)
  • Analyze, track, and report campaign results on a daily/weekly basis
  • Evaluate and communicate new media opportunities regularly
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media vendors.
  • Address client concerns and respond timely.
  • Analyze multiple sources of internal and external data to assist buying decisions
  • Deliver client requirements while maintaining profit goals
  • Keep updated and have POV on marketplace conditions and trends
  • Resolve media invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate accuracy in all projects
  • Meet timelines and deadlines on projects
  • Maintain good organizational skills
  • Interact with key top management

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

The salary for this position is $60K - $80K. The successful candidate’s salary will depend on actual ranges of current employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, geography, as well as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications. Qualifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, hardworking professional with excellent communication and time management skills.

  • 3+ years of media buying experience
  • Understanding of basic media math principles
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Proficient in Core buying software
  • Familiarity with media research tools such as MRI, Nielsen, SQAD, etc.,
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize and juggle multiple tasks within set deadlines

Travel
