Active Media Services, Inc. (AMS) is an independent media solutions company that delivers sustainable growth to businesses across the globe. AMS has a diverse range of offerings including several rapidly growing subsidiary media divisions. The intelligent use of data is paramount to our success across all divisions and is managed by our Information Solutions team. The VP, Business & Media Intelligence leads the BI group, a team of 5 responsible for data visualization, information access, and AI insights innovation. As part of the 40-person Information Solutions (IS) Team, the BI group collaborates with other IS groups including data operations, analytics, and data science, to deliver against internal and external customer needs.  

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of assessing, designing, and implementing creative solutions in Power BI, Datorama (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence), or bespoke internal applications. This role makes the complicated, appear simple, finding the story in the data, and creating tools that enable speed to insights for Active’s clients and internal employees.

The VP defines strategy, revises team roles & responsibilities, and identifies solutions that can improve our overall offering.

Responsibilities

  • BI Portfolio Optimization – Optimize Active’s use of BI solutions to efficiently find insights from data. This includes understanding end user needs (internal and external clients), evaluating the available data, and applying industry best practices to improve the implementation of BI solutions. Stay abreast of most recent developments through research, networking and latest trends.
  • BI Portal Development – Lead and participate in key BI team initiatives including the development of a reporting portal for external clients and the expansion of a reporting portal for internal teams. The VP authors roadmaps for creating best-in-class solutions for all information end users.
  • Team Vision & Leadership - Maintain a roadmap prioritized against existing revenue and future potential. The roadmap includes the build-out of new capabilities, the team, client or internal team support projects, infrastructure improvements, and testing / adoption of new technologies. The VP works with the CIO and other departments within IS to evaluate options and refine strategy.
  • AI Adoption & Innovation – A shared initiative across all Information Solutions departments is the ongoing integration of AI. The VP evaluates 3rd party solutions that best fit Active’s data insights needs and for exploring opportunities to build new solutions based on emerging technologies.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities         

                                   

This role oversees a team of 5 including, but not limited to, Manager, Data & Analytics, Media, Data & Analytics Specialist and BI Manager. The VP evaluates and refines team structure, sets annual team goals, and conducts timely reviews.

The salary is $180,000 - $220,000. The successful candidate’s salary will depend on the actual ranges of current employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, geography, as well as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications. Qualifications

Qualifications

                                               

  • Minimum requirement of 10 years in BI and analytics at companies that buy or sell media (linear TV, OTT, Radio, OOH, digital display & video). This includes demonstrated experience with media campaign KPIs and visualization.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with a history of building and maintaining internal and client relationships along with the ability to translate results into clear presentations, written reports, and data visualizations.
  • Expertise with various BI tools, especially Power BI & Datorama, required.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and data science trends, a must.
  • Must be highly skilled in accessing and manipulating data from relational databases (SQL, Python)

 

Travel

 

This position is based in Pearl River, NY and requires occasional travel (up to 10%) to client or partner locations in the US, Canada, and Europe.
