Overview

Note: This position is Hybrid to Pearl River, NY. Onsite days Tuesday & Wednesday

 

AMS seeks a detailed-oriented and analytical Associate Financial Analyst to join our team. This mid-level role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of data related to cash flows, inventory management as well as inventory balance reconciliations. The ideal candidate has a background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the financial management of AMS’s inventory positions: 

Create and monitor inventory cash flow and roll forward analyses for monthly reviews.
Conduct reconciliations of inventory positions on a quarterly basis.
Monitor and analyze inventory levels and identify positions that may be at risk or areas of opportunity.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes with the accounting department analyzing general ledger balances related to inventory positions.
Support the year-end audit team in reviewing selections related to our media inventory positions.
Contribute to efforts related to analyzing the performance of AMS’s inventory positions.
Cultivate requirements for BI team to develop tools that provide insightful financial reports and forecasts to aid strategic decision-making.
Provide support to business users related to AMS’s inventory management applications, ensuring that users are properly representing deal parameters in a timely manner.
Impact corporate initiatives aimed at implementing processes and/or systems designed to improve the effectiveness of AMS’s inventory utilization.
Maintain and update data housed in AMS’s master tables:
Identify exceptions and other inconsistencies in the data. Collaborate with members of the business team to investigate and resolve the issues.
Develop and implement processes for populating and updating information.
Identify opportunities for automation and partner with relevant parties to implement the solutions.
Support the Director, Financial Operations in the financial update and forecasting process:
Gain an understanding of conducted business with the Media leadership team and review prospect forecasts with Sales leads.
Develop a thorough understanding of the accounting treatment related to AMS’s customers and vendors.
Provide reporting and analysis on key performance indicators to the team leads and executive management.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in AMS’s workflows.
Provide support and expertise to corporate initiatives as needed.
Create, generate, and analyze reporting to stakeholders as needed.

 

Supervisor Responsibilities
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

The salary range for this role is $61,500 - $70,000. The successful candidate’s salary will depend on the actual ranges of current employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, geography, as well as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a Finance focus preferred, or equivalent experience, is required.
• Minimum requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of cash flow management, reconciliations, and inventory accounting, required.
• Analytical skills with ability to derive connections and synthesize information and facts as well as uncover insights that will help drive business growth, a must-have.
• Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, essential.
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and provide a high-level of customer service.
• Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization, required.
• Required ability to manage confidential information in a reliable manner.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), required.
• Experience with Peoplesoft is a plus.
• PowerBI proficiency is preferred.

 

Travel
This position does not require any regularly scheduled travel.
