Overview

Note: This job is hybrid in NYC, Metropolitan area

 

We’re seeking a social guru and search expert to manage a team of social and search specialists focusing on producing media plans and buying media direct in respected platforms. A collaborative, proactive, and dynamic leadership style with the ability to work cross functionally within the organization is integral for success. 

 

The Director is a forward-thinking digital expert and marketing leader with the ability to manage, inspire, and grow a team of individuals across disciplines, seniority levels, and backgrounds. 

 

As part of management within the organization, this individual collaborates with groups of digital subject matter experts. The ideal candidate demonstrates a unique balance entrepreneurial agility in addition to genuine passion and ongoing intrigue for the ever-changing digital media landscape. Quantifying and qualifying audience and performance metrics is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Search and Social and provide thought leadership insights guidance
  • Lead regular client business as needed and/or provide oversight and feedback to supervisor leading accounts
  • Act as the chief architect of the delivery strategy, testing strategy, forecast, and plan for key accounts within your team, ensuring all search and social deliverables are met on time and of the highest quality
  • Analyze performance data and site analytics to develop insights for use in quarterly and annual business reviews
  • Closely manage project plans, launch plans, scope of work, and delivery timelines to ensure each team is delivering on schedule and to specification
  • Lead the team to achieve targeted performance KPIs providing assistance, including optimizations and campaign troubleshooting
  • Train, develop and support the team effectively while fostering teamwork that drives motivation and retention
  • Participate in Agency and departmental task forces, project work and new business initiatives for organizational impact
  • Share POVs to address forward-thinking and industry updates with clients
  • Timely and effectively resolve any client issues/escalations related to billing, team operations, product delivery standards
  • Cultivate senior relationships within the agency and with media vendors (Search and Social Partners e.g. Facebook, Google, Bing etc.) to support existing and new client activities and drive agency innovation forward
  • Train and motivate direct reports to ensure continuous and effective client support for all deliverables
  • Leverage and maximize the use of technology and AI tools to streamline workflows and drive high-quality work for clients and internal deliverables

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing social and search specialists, supervisors and media assistants.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. The successful candidate’s salary will depend on the actual ranges of current employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, geography, as well as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably with a focus on Media, Advertising and/or Marketing) or equivalent work experience is required
  • A minimum of 6 years of digital advertising experience within an agency setting
  • At least 2 years of experience leading teams of three or more individuals
  • Must have managed over $10MM in net media billings
  • Must have developed strategies for helping Fortune 500 clients achieve their digital goals
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical and strategic problems is required
  • Must be highly skilled in digital media buying platforms (Meta, Tiktok, Pinterest, Google Adwords etc.)
  • Experience in utilizing and leveraging data & analytics to form a point of view and strong value proposition for clientele is essential
  • Required ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-evolving and highly complex integrated environment
  • Proven people leader with articulate verbal skills and strong management portfolio is a necessity
  • Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and keen interest in emerging technologies is needed
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities with leadership, professionalism, and integrity, required 

Travel

This role requires up to 10% for travel for client and agency meetings, conferences, and industry functions
